NJ Bound...

The Nichols' family is taking a road trip to New Jersey to visit Joe's side of the family. We have a long car ride ahead of us so keep us in your prayers for a safe trip. We will see you back here in a week!

Pool Fun!

Our girls are becoming quite the water babies. They love baths, pools and the beach. While at a birthday party this past Sunday we put the girls in a baby pool for the first time. They had an absolute blast. So on Monday after dinner Joe and I took the girls to Toys R Us and we picked out a little pool for the girls with some of their birthday money (Thanks Uncle Tony and Aunt Pat!). On Tuesday night Joe set up the pool on our porch and the girls had so much fun. Chloe loved splashing and playing with her tub toys (Thanks Todd and Kerry!), while Abby loved crawling around and trying to drink the water.

Abby's New Do...

So if you've seen Abby lately (or have seen any recent pictures) you will notice how long her hair is getting. It is constantly in her eyes. This past weekend Grandma N. commented that it was time to pull it up just like I always talked about wanting to do. I didn't think it was long enough yet but sure enough when I tried it worked. Abby usually ripes out bows or barrettes within a few minutes but she seems to leave this in for a few hours or even half a day. What do you think of Abby's new do?

Let Them Eat Cake...

The girls had another 1st birthday party on this past Saturday with more family and friends. The party went great and the girls were thoroughly spoiled with gifts. Here is a video of them eating their cakes!


The girls also had their 1 year pediatrician appointment today and all went very well. The girls are now drinking a mixture of whole milk and formula but just until the formula I have runs out and then they will be on just milk. Yeah!!!!! Wait I need to say it again...YEAH!!!!!! What a huge milestone for us! We've already transitioned the girls to a sippy cup except for the bottle before bed which we will keep just a bit longer. The transition has gone much smoother than I thought! Our doctor was very pleased with their growth although they are still small (I prefer to call them petite). It's still hard for me to say I have 1 year old twins.

Feeling Neglected....

I must apologize to my blog and those faithful readers. I have been quite busy chasing two 1 year olds all over my house. By the time nap time rolls around I have to spend that time doing my choirs since I definitely don't have a free minute to do them while the girls are crawling all over the house. Simple tasks like unloading the dishwasher are much tougher with two little girls trying to pull up on the dishwasher and take the clean dishes from inside. I will find a happy medium and get situated in the new phase but it may take awhile to get in the swing of things.

Happy 1st Birthday Abby and Chloe!

I can't believe my baby girls are turning 1 today! One year ago today I was lying in a hospital bed awaiting my c-section. At 5:22pm Abigail was born and at 5:23pm Chloe was born. We were so happy to welcome them into our family. Now we survived our first year as parents and our girls are doing better than I could have ever asked for. We celebrated their birthday with family this past Sunday and the girls are having another party this Saturday with more family and friends!

We're Back!

After a long week vacation we are back. We spent Saturday, Aug. 8th- Friday, Aug. 14th at a beach house near St. Augustine. Then on Friday we left for Largo to spend the weekend at my parents house to celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary. We also celebrated the twins 1st Birthday early! We had a fabulous time both places and once I get back into the swing of things I will be posting pictures!

Blog Vacation

I will be taking a much needed vacation from our blog and the computer in general. I'll be back on Monday, August 17th. Tune in then and I'll let you know what we've been up to!

My Personal Follower...

Abby has become my personal follower this past week. She used to just follow me into the kitchen or their bedroom but now she has braved the hallway and has officially crawled to every room in our house. She enjoys terrorizing the cat most of all. Poor Vivian will be hiding soon when she has two girls chasing after her. I can hardly believe that in two weeks the girls will be turning 1! They are really starting to look like little girls now and not so much babies anymore. It is amazing how they have grown! Abby weighed 4 lbs. 4 oz. at birth and now she is around 19 1/2 lbs. Chloe weighed 3 lbs. 6 oz. at birth and she is almost 18 lbs. now.

Laughing is Contagious!

Last week while the girls were playing and I was busy doing something, I heard them start to laugh. I came over to see what was so funny and realized they were laughing at each other. Chloe started the laughing game and Abby joined right in. I grabbed my Flip and caught most of the laughter. Their game made me smile. Not only was it so cute to hear but they were playing with each other which is awesome too! ENJOY!
