Traveling Babies....

Well we are off again this weekend on another getaway! This weekend we are going to Grandma and Grandpa Knupke's house. The girls get to meet my Aunt Pat for the first time which is sure to be exciting and of course everyone is looking forward to seeing the girls and how they have changed since their last visit. I'm sure everyone wants to see Joe and I too...you know we are second best to seeing the babies:) The boys (Joe, my Dad, Laszlo and Greg) are all looking forward to a round of golf on Saturday and as for the girls...well who knows what we'll do.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yesterday...

Not a whole lot to say about yesterday. I spent the morning relaxing, resting from the flu and playing with the girls. Abby is a rolling girl. She has got it down and can roll over in just seconds. Chloe hasn't quite got it yet, but no rush...she'll get it soon enough. In the afternoon I got busy making another batch of baby food. I made sweet potatoes and plan on making acorn squash this afternoon. I need to get some other supplies for peas and more green beans as my freezer is starting to look bare in the baby food department. The girls' current favorites are peas, apples and pears. They are not a big fan of carrots and Abby doesn't like the oatmeal useless you mix a fruit in with it. I can't blame her though, I don't care for oatment either!

I Feel Human Again...

Well last week was sort of a blurrr for me. After returning from a nice weekend trip I came down with a bad case of the flu which had me pretty much knocked out until Friday. Just think exhausted, no appetite, runny nose, cough, achy, and fever that I couldn't shake until Friday. Joe stayed home from work until Friday to take care of the girls and I tried to just get rest and feel better. I missed taking them to their 6 month doctor appointment on Tuesday but Joe said they did great. Although I did not miss seeing them get their shots, I really hate that part. Their doctor was very impressed by their growth, Abby weighed 15 lbs. 9 oz. and Chloe weighed 14 lbs. 5 oz. They have even graduated from the preemie formula!!!!! Joe and I had a very exciting 3 year wedding anniversary on Wednesday...he took me to the doctor where they proceeded to give me the flu test. I had never had this before and boy was I in for a treat. They shoved a q-tip looking stick up my nose and wiggled it around in both sides making my eyes water and me want to vomit. It's definitely not my idea of fun. On Friday, Joe went back to work and Sarah and Laszlo (my sister and bro-in-law) arrived in the afternoon for a weekend visit. We spent the weekend just hanging out and finally today I am feeling human again. Even over the weekend I was still really exhausted. Joe has gotten some of the illness but we are trying to keep the girls from getting it. I wore a surgical mask all last week and I'm constantly washing my hands. Abby had a low fever last evening and was a bit cranky but she seems better today.

We're Outta Here...

We are leaving town later today to travel to Gainesville. Our trip was planned around our dear friend Valerie's 30th birthday party to which we will be celebrating on Valentine's Day! You may think it is weird to have a birthday party on Valentine's Day but you see that is her actual birthday! How special...Valentine's Day is one of my very favorite holidays. I love anything with hearts! We will be spending the weekend at Heather and Cory's house (my sister-in-law and brother-in-law).

Abby Is Very Proud!

Not only am I a very proud Mommy, Abigail is very proud of herself for finally rolling over. She showed her Daddy her new move last night for the first time and unfortunately I missed getting it on camera again but I did manage to get her right after. Her smile tells it all!

On a side note I am very proud of myself for posting daily this week! Many people have commented to me that they love all the updates so I will try my best to continue at this rate.

Abby Rolled!

Well I am proud to announce Abigail has rolled over completely. I have yet to get it on film but you can bet that as soon as I do I will be posting it here. The girls have been trying to roll but their arm and shoulder seem to always get in the way, but sure enough while playing on the floor yesterday Abigail accomplished her mission. Chloe is close behind and never gives up trying! I am a very proud Mommy!!!

Great Morning!

This has been a great morning so far. I was having a problem with the girls wetting through their diapers at night. Every morning when I would go in to get them for breakfast, their diapers would be soaked through to their clothes and on the sheet too! I didn't think they were quite ready to go up the next size diaper yet because they are about 14 lbs and 15 lbs and the size 2 diapers say up to 18 lbs. So I came up with a solution yesterday. I would try the size 3 diapers for night and continue with the size 2s for the day. Well my plan worked great. No babies woke up at night or early morning, they woke up happy and not crying (I couldn't blame them for being cranky...after all they were soaking wet and cold) and best of all no changing of clothes and sheets first thing in the morning! So I guess what we will do is just finish up the rest of the size 2 diapers that we have and start the transition to the size 3s. I can't believe they are wearing size 3s already....and I can't believe they will be 6 months next week either.
Hope everyone has an awesome Tuesday. The weather here is so beautiful...high is supposed to be around 72...the girls and I are definitely getting outside for a walk today! That is my idea of perfect weather!!!!!

Our Weekend

We had a great weekend and the time fell by. Joe and I were left wondering last evening where the weekend went. Saturday we awoke early to get ourselves and the girls ready to head down to St. Augustine for the day. We needed to leave the house around 9 am which is a bit tough for us. I was well prepared and had the girls' bag packed the night before so as to not be so rushed and so our morning would run smoothly. Traveling even just for the day with two babies has it's challenges and lots to pack...lunch, bottles, toys, diapers, blankets, change of clothes....well you get the point...and everything times 2. We arrived at our friends Kerry and Todd's house around 10 am and right on schedule. Kerry and I were off to her Baby Shower and the boys were hanging out with the twins. We all had a great day and the Baby Shower was loads of fun. We ate, played some really fun new games and watched Kerry open all the great gifts she got. Then back to her house to hang out some more. We had pizza for dinner and called it an early night. Sunday was a beautiful day so we took the girls on an afternoon walk around our neighborhood, had pot roast, veggies and potatoes for dinner from the crock pot and ended our day watching a movie.
Hope everyone had a great weekend too!

I've Been A Slacker...

Okay I know I've been a slacker and haven't posted any new pictures or videos in a while. I've been called out by several people....so here are two new videos of the girls from this morning after their breakfast.

The girls are currently napping in their cribs and I was good about it this morning...I let them fuss and fall asleep in there. It's a lot easier said than done when you have twins. Usually I go in several times to soothe them so they don't wake up their sister. You see that is usually the problem with 'just letting them cry' as I was told to do. One will fall asleep first while the other will remain awake and continue to cry and fuss. Then the asleep baby wakes ending in two awake crying babies. So I figured if we work on it at naps, nights might be a bit easier. Although, I have no complaints b/c my girls are great sleepers once they are asleep!!! We'll soon find a schedule and pattern that fits us best!

Teens Tonight...

It is predicted that parts of Jacksonville will see temperatures in the teens tonight. At our house it will probably only get down into the lower 20's (which is fine by me). Lots of footed pj's in our house these past few days. The girls had just about out grown most of their warm pj's but Grandma and Grandpa Knupke to the rescue. They brought four new footed pj's for the girls on their last visit. Here is a picture of two of them...so cute!
