Cold Cold Go AWAY!

On Friday, after a long week of feeling kind of blah, Joe, Abby and I all came down with colds. Joe and I are still sick but Abby is feeling better from what I can tell (no more fever or runny nose, although she's not eating like she normally does).
Joe and I are hoping to kick this soon because we were miserable this weekend...coughing, tissues everywhere and sore noses. Taking it easy today and hoping to get back into the swing of things soon!

Oh Yoga How I Missed You....

I was a yoga addict before and during the beginning part of my pregnancy. I have been doing yoga on and off for many years. I mostly practiced at home in the comfort of my living room, but I have also participated in classes at the YMCA and at my previous job. I tried to get back into it when the girls were about 4 months old. The timing just wasn't right. I didn't seem to have 45 minutes of uninterrupted time to devote to it. I kept having to stop and that is not enjoyable. I have been slowing getting back to exercising about 3 times a week doing the 30 day shred...which I like to call when Jillian kicks my butt. So on Thursday (my off day) I decided to try some yoga again. I was able to get my 45 minutes of yoga in during their morning nap and even had a few minutes to spare. I fully enjoyed it and realized just how much I missed it. I now plan to do yoga 2-3 times per week because this is me time and I deserve it! Check out one of my favorite DVDs here. It's perfect for beginners or for the advanced.

We're Tired!

We all had a wonderful weekend at my parents, but man are we tired. We left later than usual because of the Father's Day festivities so we did not arrive home until around 12:30am. The girls were angels and slept the whole trip home. The funniest thing happened when we brought the girls in the house in their car seats. We were going to attempt to quietly move them to their cribs trying not to wake them, but that did not happen. Both were wide awake when we took them out, but the funny thing is they got so happy. They looked around like...we know this place, it's our HOME! Chloe was overjoyed to see Vivian, who was meowing constantly since we stepped in the door (I like to call this kitty cussing us out for being gone all weekend). Chloe smiled and smiled at Vivian and wouldn't take her eyes off her. Abigail was happy playing on their mat for a few minutes while I made bottles for them. Chloe fell asleep promptly after her bottle, but Abby fussed a bit in her crib. I was beyond exhausted when I climbed into bed at 2:12am. The girls awoke around 7:30am which came way too early for me. Today has been a lazy day for all. I don't want to leave my house today because that would require me to get out of my comfy pj's and enduring the 90 something degree heat but I need to go to September's Garden our local fruit and vegetable market...I'm out of everything! I will post some pictures from our weekend in the next couple of days.

10 Months Old!

Today Abigail and Chloe are 10 Months Old! Only 2 more months until their 1st birthday! Also only 2 more months of formula!!!! They still do not have any teeth but that hasn't stopped these eating twins! They have mastered their mashing skills and are eating small pieces of carrots, peas, potatoes, bananas, avocado, noodles, etc. Chloe and Abigail learned how to clap this past month. Chloe has been doing this for a couple of weeks but Abigail just started yesterday! Abby is working hard on crawling. She can go into Downward Facing Dog (for all you yoga fans) with out even thinking about it, it seems. She has even started lifting a leg in the air while in this position. It is so cute to watch. Chloe sure gets around too! She scoots on her belly forward and backward and can do a circle in seconds flat. She likes getting over to the basket of their toys and choosing her own.

Here is a picture of the girls from this past weekend!

We are leaving tonight for a three day weekend to my parent's house. We will be relaxing, swimming and celebrating Father's Day! Posting may be light over the next few days. Hope every has a wonderful weekend...I know we will!

Flowers from my Garden!

I love bringing beautiful flowers from the garden into my home! My hydrangea bushes are on the side of my house so I don't get out to see them everyday. They are by far my favorite flower! Check out my small display on my dining room table. I love the different colors...and they all came off the same bush.

A little Friday humor too....

I Won!!!

I've entered maybe a dozen contests from CoolMomPicks and today I found out I won. I was busy cleaning my house from top to bottom, it really needs it and with company coming this weekend what better motivation, but I decided to take a quick break to check my email. Well there it was the congratulations email. How exciting and it actually made my day.

Check out what I won here. This Australian artist and mom of four Leah creates dozens of adorable plush scottie dogs out of weathered vintage chenille blankets. What a great way to recycle! Backed with vintage-style fabric, and with embroidered eyes, any one of her born again creatures make a safe and beloved baby gift. Her shop is on Esty making my prize extra sweet because I love to support fellow crafters (although I didn't have to purchase a thing since I won). I can't wait to see what fabric choice she will send me. I asked for something perfect for two little girls. I may have to purchase one in the not too distant future if the girls don't share well anyways. Her shop has lots of other cute items so do please at least take a peek by clicking on the blue "here" above.

P.S. I'm super excited I won...but too bad it wasn't the new Britax carseat they gave away a few weeks back:(

Blueberry Picking

This morning Joe and I took the girls blueberry picking. This is one of my favorite times of year in Florida! We went to the Williams Blueberry Farm (2595 Statton Road, Jacksonville, FL, Phone: 904-781-4676). They had a huge amount of bushes and tons of blueberries to pick. We picked for a little over an hour. We went home with 10 lbs. of blueberries. At $2.50 a pound who could go wrong. I have visions of blueberry muffins, blueberry buckle, blueberry pancakes, etc in my head.

Cheerio Love!

The girls have been eating Cheerios for a few days now and they love them. It feels like kind of a milestone because every baby eats Cheerios. They are also beginning to perfect their feeding skills. The Cheerios really help because they are not slippery like the bananas or avocado. I still make some the girls baby food but what I don't make (like the meat entrees) they are now eating mostly all stage 3.

These pictures were too cute not to include as well. The first is of Chloe's 'raspberry face'. She spent the second half of breakfast blowing raspberries and covering her onesie in spit. The second picture is Abby and her crazy hair. Her expression is priceless too!

Top 10 Discounts & Freebies for Twins/Multiples

I came across this link about two months ago. I was searching for discounts or multiple birth programs as suggested in the April issue of Parents Magazine. I signed up for several programs and was surprised by the coupons I received back. Pampers sent great coupons including one for a free pack of diapers (about a $10 value)and a bonus on the Pampers coupons is you can use them on Luvs diapers because they are both made by Proctor and Gamble too, Gerber sent a gift pack and baby food coupons, Beechnut sent a nice stack of baby food coupons and Huggies sent coupons that are good on any Huggies product (which is great because I do not use Huggies diapers but I like their wipes and other bath products). IF you know someone with multiples or expecting multiples please send them this link. It's worth the small about of time and effort!

Exploration

The girls are beginning to explore there surroundings! Here are two pictures from Monday afternoon. They have really started to play together and it is so cute.

Happy Birthday Blog!

I have officially been blogging for a year! I never thought I would enjoy it so much. I originally started my blog to give everyone updates on my pregnancy in an effort to reduce my phone calls. Some days I felt like I spent the whole day on the phone. I think my blog has turned out better than I ever could have expected. I love posting pictures and videos for all my family and friends to enjoy. I can't wait to see what this year will bring! Happy Blogging!

In Bloom!

Just wanted to share a couple pictures from what is blooming in my garden. The first picture is my first sunflower. It is not at all what I expected when I planted those seeds a few weeks back. I had anticipated giant big sunflowers as the packaged boasted. Of well these are pretty too!

The next two pictures are from my hydrangea bush. It is always fun to guess what color the flowers will be this year. My blooms are pink and I have about six right now. This is by far my favorite plant in my garden!
